Coffee seeds

A coffee seed germinates in anything from 2 1/2 months to 6 months.

Green coffee fruit

It can take 3-5 years for a new coffee plant to flower and grow fruits.

Harvesting ripe coffee fuits

Once ripe it is time to harvest the fruits.

Ripe coffee fruit. The beans are the seeds inside the fruit. They need to be fermented or seperated before the beans can be dried.

Drying coffee beans

Coffee beans are dried after they have been separated from the fruit.

Green beans

The dried green beans can be stored in 6-9 months before they should be roasted.

Roasting the beans

After the beans are roasted they need to be cooled as quickly as possible. Here beans are cooled in a Giesen W6 Roaster.

Grinding coffee

There are several ways to grind your coffee beans depending on your brew method. Here you see an espresso grind. The finest grind.

Enjoy your freshly brewed coffee

Now it is time to enjoy. Here a cup of hand brew coffee. All in all a journey that can take over 5 years from a seed is planted.
